Last night's performers were just ok and sometimes drowned out Voyage's eloquent voice. Bless her heart, Voyage's attempt to "connect" with the audience ruins any chance for her to build any momentum with all of her hit songs and keep everyone interested. I just prefer music artists who simply come out on stage and perform, e.g., Sade, Mariah Carey, and Teena Marie. In the recording studio, Voyage has produced some of the best music ever; I was hoping she'd attempt to emulate that sound with some deviation. Voyage's band was once renowned for being one of the best in the business. For some, it works. For others like me, I can do without the talking in between each song.
